Hooper Horses Among October Dispersals

The Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's Fall Mixed sale has been extended to a total of six days to accommodate dispersals from Farnsworth Farms, Fred Hooper, and Mockingbird Farm. Mockingbird has been gradually dispersing over the last year, but this is the first mention of Hooper's departure from the breeding industry. The 102-year-old plans to sell 81 horses at the sale. Mockingbird will sell 62 broodmares and two weanlings. Eighty-seven mares and 61 weanlings comprise the Farnsworth-Locust Valley dispersal (which is separate from Farnsworth's general operations).

A total of more than 1,800 horses have been catalogued to the Oct. 15-20 sale. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday's sessions will be consignor preferred sessions. For more information visit www.obssales.com.
