Stakes Producer It's Personal Dies

WinStar Farm’s It's Personal, whose three stakes winners include grade II winner It's No Joke and 2011 stakes winner Mildly Offensive, was euthanized because of foaling complications after delivering a colt by farm stallion Colonel John   April 27. The colt has been placed on a nurse mare. WinStar, owned by Kenny Troutt, is located near Versailles, Ky.

Bred in New York by Gerald A. Nielsen, It’s Personal (Personal Flag—Dance Hall Girl, by Guerrero) was a graded stakes winner for brothers Art, Jack, and J.R. Preston’s Prestonwood Farm. It’s Personal captured the 1994 Violet Handicap (gr. IIIT) and the 1995 Gallorette Handicap (gr. III). During her career she won or placed in 12 of 21 starts and earned $232,836.

It’s Personal produced her first three foals for Prestonwood and her remaining nine foals, including her three stakes winners, for WinStar. It’s No Joke, by WinStar stallion Distorted Humor  , won three stakes including the Hawthorne Gold Cup Handicap (gr. II) and the Emirates Airline Ack Ack Handicap (gr. III) and earned a career total of $685,612. He stands at Stonewall Farm Ocala near Ocala, Fla.

Mildly Offensive, by Sharp Humor, who also stands at WinStar, is undefeated in two starts. She won the Santa Paula Stakes March 20.

It’s Personal also produced stakes winner Keep Laughing (by Distorted Humor).
