Undefeated Australian mare Black Caviar and British star Frankel share the to weight of 130 pounds in the latest World Thoroughbred Rankings. Compiled by a panel of handicappers, the rankings are for the period beginning Dec. 1, 2010, through May 23, 2011.
Frankel earned his rating with an impressive, front-running six length romp in the Qipco Two Thousand Guineas (Eng-I) at Newmarket.
Former Australian star So You Think, now campaigned in Ireland, ranked third at 126 pounds on the basis of his victories in the Tattersalls Gold Cup (Ire-I) and the High Chaparral EBF Mooresbridge Stakes (Ire-III), both at Curragh.
The highest-rated American-based horses were Animal Kingdom, winner of the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I), and Preakness Stakes (gr. I) winner Shackleford , who shared the 13th spot at 121 pounds with five other horses.
