Undefeated Australian mare Black Caviar and British star Frankel share the to weight of 130 pounds in the latest World Thoroughbred Rankings. Compiled by a panel of handicappers, the rankings are for the period beginning Dec. 1, 2010, through May 23, 2011.
Frankel earned his rating with an impressive, front-running six length romp in the Qipco Two Thousand Guineas (Eng-I) at Newmarket.
Former Australian star So You Think, now campaigned in Ireland, ranked third at 126 pounds on the basis of his victories in the Tattersalls Gold Cup (Ire-I) and the High Chaparral EBF Mooresbridge Stakes (Ire-III), both at Curragh.
The highest-rated American-based horses were Animal Kingdom, winner of the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I), and Preakness Stakes (gr. I) winner Shackleford, who shared the 13th spot at 121 pounds with five other horses.
