Piskacha became the first winner sired by grade II winner Master Command when she won a maiden special weight race at Churchill Downs May 20. Beaten a neck in her previous start, she captured the five-furlong race by a head in :58.47 (VIDEO).

Piskacha was bred in Kentucky by J.W. Lockhart Jr. and Sally Lockhart. She is the second winner from the stakes-placed Confide mare Trick Question.

Master Command (A.P. Indy—Lady Lochinvar, by Lord At War) won five graded stakes, including the Meadowlands Breeders’ Cup Stakes (gr. II) and the New Orleans Handicap (gr. II).

Master Command stood at the Taylor family’s Taylor Made Farm near Nicholasville, Ky., prior to his death in April 2010.
