Silent Name Sires First Winner

Grade II winner Silent Name   came through with his first winner when his daughter Silent Sue scored at Hollywood Park May 22. The filly won the 4 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race in :52.13 for a partnership that includes Robert Gramer, Jeff Hauptman, and Michael Nicolarsen (VIDEO).

Swifty Farms is the breeder of Indiana-bred Silent Sue, who is a half sister to stakes winners Liepers Fork and Offlee Swift and to stakes-placed Glitternmeporridge and is out of the winning Tiffany Ice mare Cold Porridge.

Japanese-bred Silent Name (Sunday Silence—Danzigaway, by Danehill) was a grade II winner in North America and a stakes winner in France. In North America, he won the Commonwealth Breeders’ Cup Stakes (gr. II) and the Arcadia Handicap (gr. IIT) and placed in three grade I turf stakes. He stands for $5,000 at Joe and Anne McMahon’s McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds near Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
