Lucille Stephens, widow of Hall of Fame trainer Woody Stephens, died May 14 in Miami Lakes, Fla., after a lengthy illness, according to her nephew Harley Clemons. She was 93. She and Woody were married 60 years.

"When I read of the passing of Lucille Stephens, it brought back so many wonderful memories of good times spent with her and Woody," said Elizabeth Moran, owner of Brushwood Stables near Malvern, Pa. "She would always say, 'Wear your red, it will get you to the winner’s circle.' And it did. She was an elegant lady, and I will always think of her fondly."

Services will be held Thursday, May 19, at 12:30 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Road in Lexington. She will be buried near her husband at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Lexington.
