Flashy Bull Sires First U.S. Winner

Flashy Lassie became the second winner by freshman sire Flashy Bull   and his first in the United States  when she scored by nine lengths at Churchill Downs May 13.

Making her first start, the 2-year-old Kentucky-bred filly won a 4 1/2-furlong maiden claiming race in :52.19 for owner Barry L.  King. Bred by Mr. and Mrs. Hugh G. King, Flashy Lassie is the first foal out of the Lemon Drop Kid   mare Lemon Pop Lassie.

Flashy Bull’s first winner, Princesa Caramelo, won in Mexico March 29. Princesa Caramelo was bred in Ontario by Gail Wood.

Flashy Bull (Holy Bull—Iridescence, by Mt. Livermore) scored the biggest win of his career in the 2007 Stephen Foster Handicap (gr. I) at Churchill Downs for West Point Thoroughbreds. Flashy Bull stands for $6,000 at Brereton C. Jones’ Airdrie Stud near Midway, Ky.
