Churchill officials announced the races on the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) card May 6 were run 15 minutes behind schedule due to a temporary on-track tote failure, which was resolved.
The Oaks, which was originally scheduled for 5:45 p.m. EDT, instead went off at 5:59 p.m.
VERSUS adjusted its television programming to allow extra time for coverage of the Oaks, which was shown in its entirety.
The tote malfunction was only on-track, officials said, and lasted between 10-15 minutes.
There are approximately 1,000 betting windows, 300 Bet Pros, and 275 self-serve machines on-track at Churchill. The majority of the machines were functioning with the exception of a few isolated issues, according to officials.
