Grade I winner Misremembered   has been retired from racing to become a stallion. Bred by Hall of Famer conditioner Bob Baffert, Misremembered raced for Baffert’s wife, Jill, and George Jacobs, running first or second in 11 of 13 starts and earning $1,306,709.

Misremembered scored his biggest win in the 2010 Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I). He also ran second in that year’s Strub Stakes (gr. II).

The previous year Misremembered captured the Indiana Derby (gr. II) in track-record time of 1:40.80 for 1 1/16 miles at Hoosier Park and the Swaps Stakes (gr. II). Also that year, he finished second in the 2009 Malibu Stakes (gr. I), the Clark Handicap (gr. II), and the Affirmed Handicap (gr. III). In the Clark, he was beaten a neck by eventual champion Blame  .

Misremembered started off 2011 with a three-length win in 1:33.50 in the one-mile Santana Mile Stakes at Santa Anita and then ran second in the Oaklawn Handicap (gr. II).

“The way he won the Santana Mile in near-track-record time, in a gallop, showcased his brilliance in a manner similar to his sire, Candy Ride  , who set a new track record at a mile and a quarter while defeating Medaglia d'Oro  ,” Baffert said in reference to the 2003 Pacific Classic (gr. I) at Del Mar. “He blossomed into a true classic horse.”

Misremembered is out of multiple graded stakes winner Beyond Perfection (by Quack).

Stud plans have not yet been determined.
