Sunday Silence, who topped the Japanese leading sire list by progeny earnings from 1995 to 2000, is steam rolling toward another title. Through Sept. 30, his 2001 runners have earned $37 million compared to the $19.5 million earned by the progeny of runner-up Tony Bin. Equally impressive is that his runners have won 182 races. No other stallion even has topped the 100 mark. Sunday Silence (Halo--Wishing Well, by Understanding) is represented by 13 graded stakes winners this year. He stands at Shadai Stallion Station.
