Awesome Gambler Sires First Winner

California stakes winner Awesome Gambler came through with his first winner when his daughter, Willa B Awesome, scored at Hollywood Park April 21 in her first start (VIDEO).

A member of her sire’s first crop, Willa B Awesome won the 4 1/2-furlong race by 2 1/2 lengths in :53.20. She races for her breeder, Terry Lovingier, in partnership with Phil Daniels, Patsy London, and John Winters.

A California-bred Willa B Awesome is the third winner from three starters from the winning Nineeleven mare Cause I’m Tricky. Willa B Awesome is a half sister to stakes-placed Got Tobe Rio and Rio Tricky.

Winner of the Alydar Stakes at Hollywood Park, Awesome Gambler (Coronado's Quest—Wedding March, by Deputy Minister) stands for $3,000 at Loveacres Ranch near Warner Springs, Calif.
