Colic will keep Salt Lake from shuttling to Australia this summer.
Central Kentucky stallion Salt Lake is recovering from a case of colic and won't shuttle to Australia this summer. The 11-year-old stallion was in quarantine at the time when taken to Rood and Riddle near Lexington. “There was no surgery performed, and he's back on the farm recovering,” said farm representative Kerry Cauthen. “Since he broke quarantine, he'd have to miss the start of the breeding season. It was decided that it was in the best interest to keep him here.”

Salt Lake (Deputy Minister—Take Lady Anne, by Queen City Lad) has sired 19 stakes winners and stands at John T.L. Jones Jr.'s Walmac International near Lexington.
