Alastair Donald and Ed Sackville have decided to leave Kern/Lillingston Bloodstock and have created the Sackville Donald bloodstock agency. They will still be based in Hungerford, Berkshire, and will also continue to work in association with Luke Lillingston and Lincoln Collins of Kern Lillingston.
Among the top horses with whome Donald has been associated are Viva Pataca, Collection, Pressing and Golden Apples. Donald, who specializes in horses in training, has spent 11 years at Lillingston Bloodstock. According to a release from Kern Lillingston, during his tenure with the agency Donald has purchased the winners of 19 group/grade I races, 80 group/stakes, and over 100 stakes races.
Sackville has been with Kern Lillingston for three years and has rapidly established himself as a prolfic buyer of yearlings for many of the UK’s top trainers. In the new venture of Sackville Donald, Sackville will continue his role as United Kingdom representative to both the Breeders Cup and Three Chimneys Farm in America.
“We have both thoroughly enjoyed working for Luke and look forward to enjoying further sucess together,” Donald said in a statement. “After my 11 years and Ed’s rapid rise we felt it was a natural progression to set up our own agency. We are both very excited about the coming season, and are delighted that we are continuing our asscociation with Luke Lillingston in Ireland and Lincoln Collins in Kentucky.”
“I wish Alastair and Ed the very best with their new venture,” Collins said. “Ed’s attention to detail and organizational skills were a huge help in successfully launching Three Chimneys as a vendor at the Tattersalls December Sales last year. I am looking forward to working as closely with them in the future as I have done in the past.”
“I feel that this is a very positive evolution,” Luke Lillingston said, “especially as my own base has been in Ireland for the past 10 years. I am looking forward to having as close, productive, and successful association with Alastair and Ed as I have with Lincoln. I believe that the three businesses in three countries offer a unique association and the combined expertise we provide will benefit many of our worldwide clients.”
