The grade I $500,000 Frizette, which vaulted Meadow Star, Flanders, and Storm Song to Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) titles, pits grade I winning Cashier's Dream and Adirondack winner, You, against each other for the third time. The 1 1/16-mile Frizette will be contested Saturday at Belmont Park.
Cashier's Dream and You, who are regarded as the 2-year-old divisional leaders on the East Coast, have taken turns beating one another. Cashier's Dream got the best of You in a non-winners of two-lifetime allowance at Churchill Downs in June, while You turned the tables in the Adirondack, winning by a neck. As competitive as the Adirondack was, it looked even better when Cashier's Dream returned to win the grade I Spinaway Stakes at Saratoga by six lengths.
Hall of Fame trainer Bobby Frankel, who has eight graded stakes victories in New York this season, will saddle You for Edmund Gann. You, a daughter of You and I, has not raced since winning the Adirondack, her third career start.
The field for the grade I Frizette includes: Cashier's Dream (Donnie Meche); Cherokee Girl (John Velazquez); You (Edgar Prado); Treasure Coast Gem (Jorge Chavez); and Riskaverse (Robbie Davis).
