Florida HBPA Announces Results of Election

The Florida Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association March 15 announced the results of an election for its board of directors, each of which will serve three-year terms.

Elected as owner directors were incumbent Sam Gordon, the current Florida HBPA president, and newcomers Kathy Davey and Gene Stevens. Elected as trainer directors were incumbent Richard Root and newcomer William Kaplan.

The Florida HBPA reported three alternates were elected to one-year terms: Ralph Ziadie and Robert Jeffries as trainer alternates, and Chester Bishop as owner alternate.

Officers will be elected by the board when it meets in later in March. The deadline to cast votes in the election was March 10.
