An Officer filly brought $325,000 around noon March 15 during the opening session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. March select sale of 2-year-olds in training in Central Florida. David Clark Iron Horse Racing, sitting beside trainer Bob Holthus in the OBS sale pavilion, was her buyer.

The price equaled the amount brought by an Indian Charlie   colt earlier in the day.

“I loved her work and her conformation, and she has some pedigree,” Clark said. “She acts like she’s got a lot of class and a lot of sense, and she’s correct.”

Holthus will train the filly, who worked a quarter mile in :21 2/5 prior to the auction.

“I paid a fair price for her,” Clark said. “I wasn’t going beyond $400,000.”

Consigned by Eddie Woods, agent, the bay juvenile is out of the grade-III placed winner Freakin Streakin (by Tactical Advantage). Tim Kegel, agent, purchased the filly for $11,000 from Havens Bloodstock Agency, agent, at the 2010 Keeneland September yearling sale. Mercedes Stable bred her in Kentucky.
