Hip 137; colt, Scat Daddy - Madagascat by Tale of the Cat, worked an eighth in :9 4/5 at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Co. March select sale of 2-year-olds in training.

A Scat Daddy   colt was the standout at an eighth of a mile March 11 during the first session of the under tack show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. March select sale of 2-year-olds in training. A member of his sire’s first crop, he covered the distance in :9 4/5 over the OBS track’s synthetic Safetrack surface.

Consigned by Old South Farm, agent, the bay juvenile is out of the Tale of the Cat   mare Madagascat, who was unplaced in two career races, but is a half sister to grade III winner Lindsay Jean (by Saint Ballado) and added-money winners Honour Colony (by Honour and Glory) and Crozet (by Charismatic).

Fillies by Forest Wildcat and Latent Heat were the co-fastest workers at a quarter mile, each turning in a time of :21 1/5.

Consigned by Eisaman Equine, agent, the Forest Wildcat filly is a half sister to the winners Denali Two Punch (by Two Punch) and R Gold Broker (by Indian Ocean  ). Their dam, Nyanza (by Montbrook) is a half sister to stakes winner Sweet Nanette (by You and I), who produced added-money winner Sherriff Cogburn (by Vindication).

Consigned by Wavertree Stables, agent, the Latent Heat filly is out of the winning Mr. Greeley mare Great Deep Bay and is a member of her sire’s first crop. She is from the family of grade I winner Stop Traffic and grade III winner Gouldings Green.

The first session of the undertack show was for Hip Nos. 1-244 in the March sale catalog. The second session, which will be for Hip Nos. 245-490, is scheduled for March 12, beginning at 8 a.m. (EST).

The sale will be held March 15 and 16, with each session starting at 11 a.m. (EDT).
