PNC Bank Sues Waterville, Goldthorpe, Privett

PNC Bank has filed a suit against Waterville Bloodstock, John Goldthorpe and others, contending they are in default on notes that exceed $1 million.

According to the filing in Fayette (Lexington) Circuit Court, a total of $1,037,771 is owed the bank by Waterville Bloodstock, Waterville Insurance, John Goldthorpe, Janet Goldthorpe, and Kim Privett.

The bank seeks a judgment in its favor and possession as well as any related income from horses that were pledged as collateral on the notes. The horses used as collateral are not listed in the lawsuit.

Along with Bobby Hurley and others, John Goldthorpe raced multiple grade III winner Stream Cat.

PNC previously obtained a judgment in its favor against Hurley, the former Duke University basketball star, and his Devil Eleven Farm, which defaulted on loans totaling more than $3.3 million.
