Ric Waldman, who manages the Windfields Farm stallions, said Wednesday Deputy Minister's stud fee for 2002 will remain $150,000, and the fee for Silver Deputy will be reduced to $40,000 from $75,000.

Deputy Minister (Vice Regent -- Mint Copy, by Bunty's Flight) was the leading sire in North America by progeny earnings in 1997 and 1998. This year, however, Deputy Minister is not on The Blood-Horse weekly list of leading sires, which ranks the top 70 stallions by progeny earnings. He has had 25 yearlings sold in 2001 for an average of $432,200. Deputy Minister is the sire of 69 stakes winners.

Silver Deputy (Deputy Minister -- Silver Valley, by Mr. Prospector) is the sire of 40 stakes winners. He has had 33 yearlings sell this year for an average of $119,470.

Both stallions stand at Fred Seitz' Brookdale Farm near Versailles, Ky.
