Grade I Winner Snow Ridge to Stand in Texas

Snow Ridge, a grade I-winning son of dual classic winner Tabasco Cat, has been relocated to stand at Bradford Thoroughbred Farm near Palestine, Texas. The former Pennsylvania stallion, who has sired the earners of more than $7.2 million, will stand for a $2,500 fee.

A winner of 10 of 21 starts, Snow Ridge ranked among the best sprinters of his crop. He defeated champion Squirtle Squirt in the Palos Verdes Handicap (gr. II) and also won the San Carlos Handicap (gr. I), the Kentucky Cup Sprint Stakes (gr. II), and two other graded events. He earned $711,989.

Thirteen-year-old Snow Ridge has sired 14 stakes horses, seven of which are stakes winners. Last year Snow Ridge was one of Pennsylvania’s leading sires, with progeny earnings of more than $1.76 million. In 2011, he is ranked second in Texas behind Valid Expectations  .

Snow Ridge, out of the English group-placed Woodman mare Snow Forest, is a half brother to stakes winner Pavarotti.
