The New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority officially released a request for proposals for the lease of Monmouth Park.
A notice posted on the NJSEA website March 3 states the lease is for operation of Monmouth, five off-track wagering facilities, and 50% of the New Jersey advance deposit wagering service 4NJBets.com. The RFP expires March 31.
A mandatory pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for March 10.
The NJSEA currently operates only one OTW parlor in Woodbridge Township but is eligible for nine such facilities under state statute. A potential lessee for Meadowlands, the sports authority’s other track, will get four OTW licenses.
The other six licenses were awarded to the private operators of Atlantic City Race Course and Freehold Raceway.
Freehold Raceway has a share of the state’s account wagering system.
