Penn National, TVG in Marketing Alliance

Penn National Gaming, Inc., announced Feb. 28 it has entered into a marketing alliance with TVG.
Under terms of the agreement, racing from Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Pennsylvania and Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races in West Virginia will be featured coverage on a new TVG program, “Tuesday Nights Under the Lights.” The six-week series begins March 1.
TVG has also agreed to sponsor two stakes at PNG tracks --the Sugar Maple presented by TVG, a $250,000, seven-furlong race for older fillies and mares scheduled for April 16 at Charles Town, and the $200,000, five-furlong Pennsylvania Governor’s Cup presented by TVG, a turf sprint at Penn National on July 30. TVG will also present live coverage of Charles Town’s $1 million Charles Town Classic (gr. III) April 16.
“We believe the visibility and sponsorship derived from the TVG alliance will lead to additional viewership and more racing fans following, and wagering, on our racing product,” said Chris McErlean, vice president of racing for Penn National Gaming.
“Penn National is a major force in the racing industry and we are excited to be developing strategic marketing initiatives with them,” said Don Scott, TVG’s vice president of marketing.
The Penn National TVG alliance will feature a prize money betting challenge, TVG bonus rewards points, free past performance information, and race selections by TVG’s on-air analysts for the “Tuesday Nights Under the Lights” as well as other earmarked races.
As part of the agreement, TVG will carry Penn Gaming’s other racing properties – Bangor Raceway, Raceway Park, and Zia Park – on its wagering platform, including video streaming of live races.
