Lanwades Sponsoring European Group Events

Kirsten Rausing’s Lanwades Stud is adding two group stakes to its sponsorship program this year. Lanwades, located near Newmarket, England, will be sponsoring the Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes (Eng-III) at Newmarket April 13 and the Lanwades Stud Scandinavian Open Championship (Den-III) at Klampenborg Aug. 7.

“I am delighted to be able to sponsor a group race for fillies in my home town, Newmarket, and also to be in a position to support racing at Klampenborg, where I had my first homebred classic winner, More Mahal, in 1971,” Rausing said. “Lanwades now sponsors (seven) races in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, and Denmark, reflecting our enthusiasm for the Thoroughbred racehorse internationally, and the ties of friendship the sport produces.”
