Santa Anita Park officials unveiled the exclusive Arcadia Suite Feb. 18 at the Southern California track, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by several area politicians, including Arcadia’s mayor pro-tem Gary Kovacic, councilman Roger Chandler, and city manager Don Penman.
Santa Anita vice president of marketing Allen Gutterman and Chandler performed the ribbon-cutting honors and welcomed a crowd of onlookers.
“The Arcadia Suite is going to be a significant attraction for us, with great views and proximity to everything that goes on here at Santa Anita,” Gutterman said. “This is going to be a popular destination for groups who want to take in the mountains and experience world-class racing close-up. This is going to enable groups to enjoy the races together and have what amounts to an all-access type of experience.
“When you look around the L.A. area, you see venues like Staples Center and you realize we need to do whatever we can to try and attract groups with not only great racing, but with amenities that high-end groups have come to expect at major sporting events.
“This is something our director of group events, Chris Quinn, has wanted to do for a long time and he and his staff have done a great job putting together this new and exciting venue for Santa Anita.”
“The Arcadia Suite is sweet!” said Chandler. “There’s so much space available here at Santa Anita and we need to do whatever we can to better utilize it. People need to know that they can arrange conferences, meetings and events right here.
“This gives people a wide-open view of the mountains and it’s just an unbeatable location. We need to reinvigorate horse racing in California and what better place to start than here at Santa Anita.”
The Arcadia Suite’s amenities include outdoor terrace accommodations, catering by Santa Anita Park, private presentation opportunities, multiple 32-inch televisions, concierge service, and a staff and account representative who are dedicated solely to Arcadia Suite guests.
The Arcadia Suite, located at track level on the club house turn, can accommodate up to 30 people.
