High winds, with gusts reported between 45-55 miles per hour, forced the cancellation of live racing on Monday, Feb. 14, at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course.
"It’s been hard to get any momentum this winter," said Mark Loewe, vice president of racing, refering to weather-related cancelations the first six days they were scheduled to race in February. "We had good weather this past weekend, but today’s wind gusts make for dangerous racing conditions for the horses and jockeys. It’s been hard on our horsemen, and our property business.
Live racing is scheduled to resume Tuesday, Feb. 15.
