The first reported foal by grade I winner and two-time California champion Idiot Proof is a colt born Jan. 23 at Terrill’s Farm near Loma, Colo. Carol and John Piantes are the breeders of the newborn, who is out of the Elusive Quality mare Battledress.
Idiot Proof (Benchmark —Perfectly Pretty, by Bertrando) stands at Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cohn’s Ballena Vista Farm near Ramona, Calif. His 2011 fee is $2,000.
