Another snowstorm scheduled to hit the Northeast Jan. 26 has prompted the New York Racing Association to accelerate post times for live racing at Aqueduct. Meanwhile, Laurel Park in Maryland and Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races have canceled live racing.

First post time at Aqueduct is 12:30 p.m. (EST). The advisory did not specify to what extent post times for other races would be changed. Simulcasting will also be offered at Aqueduct and Belmont Park.

According to the National Weather Service, light snow and a high temperature of 37 degrees with winds from 10 to 15 miles per hour are forecast for the New York City area. The NWS is predicting more snow for the evening, with accumulations of four to six inches, winds from 10 to 20 miles per hour, and a low of 26.

Laurel officials said a mix of sleet and snow is expected for central Maryland. Laurel and Pimlico Race Course, however, will remain open for full-card simulcasts.

Live racing is expected to resume at Laurel Jan. 27, officials said.

Charles Town also canceled racing for the evening of Jan. 26. Live racing is scheduled to resume Jan. 27 with regular first post time of 7:15 p.m. EST.

Aqueduct announced later the afternoon of Jan. 26 that live racing was canceled for Jan. 27 but full-card simulcasts would be available at Aqueduct and Belmont.
