The son of Macho Uno   was runner-up behind To Honor and Serve  in both the Nashua Stakes (gr. II) and Remsen Stakes (gr. II) as a juvenile and his time Saturday was tied for fastest of 32 at the distance.

Mucho Macho Man was prominent on a list of high-profile stakes runners to hit the work Tab Saturday morning along Donald Dizney’s 4-year-old First Dude   and Carol Nyren’s 7-year-old gelding Dry Martini, both possible candidates for the $500,000 Sunshine Millions Classic Jan. 29.

First Dude was timed seven furlongs flat in 1:25 as he prepares for his first start since finishing eighth in the Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I) Nov. 6. Trained by Dale Romans, the Florida homebred by Stephen Got Even   finished second in the Preakness (gr. I) and third in the Belmont Stakes (gr. I) last spring in a very productive, but somewhat frustrating season for his connections.

Dry Martini worked six furlongs in 1:14 2/5 for trainer Barclay Tagg. The son of Slew Gin Fizz finished a close-up third last out in the Mad Hatter Stakes at Aqueduct on Nov. 20 and has posted career earnings of more than $1.3 million. Dry Martini’s last victory came in the 2009 Suburban Handicap (gr. II) at Belmont Park.
