Cowboy Cal's First Foal Is a Filly

The first reported foal by grade I winner Cowboy Cal   is a filly born Jan. 2. Dr. Naoya Yoshida, owner of Winchester Farm near Paris, Ky., said the filly is a “very nice, strong filly with good bone and nice hip.”

The newborn, a half sister to four winners, is out of the winning Unbridled mare Do Nice, a half sister to three stakes winners, including leading Canadian sire Trajectory.

Cowboy Cal (Giant's Causeway  —Texas Tammy, by Seeking the Gold) stands at Josephine Abercrombie’s Pin Oak Stud near Versailles, Ky. His 2011 fee is $7,500.
