The Jockey Club said Jan. 3 the Tropical Park Derby, run Jan. 1 at Calder Casino & Race Course in Florida, was inadvertently listed as a grade III stakes in data feeds provided by Equibase.

The American Graded Stakes Committee in December 2010 downgraded the $100,000 Tropical Derby, raced on turf, from grade III status to ungraded status.

The Jockey Club said the database now correctly reflects the ungraded status. The Tropical Park Derby, for 3-year-olds, was won by West Point Thoroughbreds’ King Congie, who is now two-for-two on grass.
