Winter Storm Impacts Tracks in Northeast

The inclement weather that has impacted business and travel in the Northeast has resulted in the Dec. 27 cancellation of live racing at Penn National Racecourse and simulcasting at Aqueduct and Belmont Park.

Although it was spared any of the snow that has created blizzard-like conditions in some areas, Hollywood Casino Penn National Race Course cancelled racing after temperatures hovered in the 20s throughout the day, accompanied by sustained wind gusts approaching 40 miles per hour that produced wind chills in the low teens.

The track plans to resume live racing Dec. 28 through Dec. 30 for its final three programs of the year.

NYRA, which was not conducting any live racing during the holiday, announced there will not be any wagering available Dec. 27 via NYRA Rewards telebet, internet, or mobile wagering.
