Following a review by the American Graded Stakes Committee, the Dec. 18 renewal of the W.L. McKnight Handicap, which was switched from the turf to the main track at Calder Casino and Racetrack Dec. 18, has been reinstated as a grade II event.

The 1 1/2-mile race was originally dropped to grade III status due to the surface switch, which is the policy of AGSC. Half of the original field of 10 for the $150,000 event was scratched.

The winner of the race, Prince Will I Am, is credited with a grade II win. Free Fighter, who was second, and Memorial Maniac, the third-place finisher, are credited with grade II placings.
