Graded stakes winner Temple City  , whose dam is a half sister to prominent stallion Malibu Moon  , will enter stud alongside Malibu Moon at B. Wayne Hughes’ Spendthrift Farm near Lexington. A fee will be announced later.

Temple City, who achieved his greatest success on turf, began his career on dirt, winning at 6 1/2 furlongs in his debut and at a mile two races later, both scores coming at Santa Anita. While racing on the grass, he won or placed in four graded stakes.

Temple City took the Cougar II Handicap (gr. III) over Unusual Suspect and grade I winner Richard’s Kid in track-record time. In his final start, he was beaten a head by Unusual Suspect in the Hollywood Turf Cup Stakes (gr. IT) in November. Temple City’s other stakes placings came in the American Handicap (gr. IIT) in which he was beaten a head and in the Del Mar Handicap (gr. IIT).

During his career, Temple City won or placed in 10 of 15 races and earned $326,400 while racing as a homebred for Spendthrift. The 5-year-old son of Dynaformer was trained by Carla Gaines.

Temple City’s dam, Curriculum (by Danzig), is out of French group I winner Macoumba. Malibu Moon, a 13-year-old son of A.P. Indy, ranks third on this year’s sires’ list.
