Authors Jane Lyon and Karen Bailey will sign copies of their new book, Primerica: A Home for the Brave (Eclipse Press, $16.95) at Old Friends, the Thoroughbred retirement facility, Dec. 18 from 5-6:30 p.m. EST. Proceeds from the sale of the book will benefit Old Friends.
Illustrated by Susan Gordon, Primerica: A Home for the Brave is a book for young readers that tells the true story of a racehorse rescued in the twilight of his career and brought to Kentucky’s Summer Wind Farm for a well-deserved retirement.
Lyon and Bailey, who are mother and daughter, have previously published Skipingo Home (Eclipse Press), the true story of a racehorse who gets a chance at a new career after a failed attempt to become a champion racehorse like his famous brother, Skip Away.
Old Friends is located at 1841 Paynes Depot Rd., Georgetown, Ky.
