Double Rewards to New NYRA Rewards Customers

Two days after the state Senate in New York rejected a reorganization plan for the New York City Off-Track Betting Corp. and the OTB subsequently shut its doors, the New York Racing Association announced it would offer double cash rewards for three months from Jan. 1-March 31 to all new customers who sign up for its NYRA Rewards account wagering service by Dec. 31.

NYRA Rewards, which already returns the largest rebates among all account wagering platforms based in the United States, allows horseplayers to earn cash back for wagers made on track, through the NYRA Rewards telephone service, on mobile devices, and online through www.nyrarewards.com. NYRA Rewards customers receive their rebate on the first of each month, with the payment based on their level of wagering activity over the previous month.

Those interested in signing up for NYRA Rewards can do so on the NYRA Rewards website or at a customer service booth at Aqueduct Racetrack.

NYRA, which will offer new customers the opportunity to sign up instantly for its free NYRA Rewards account wagering service beginning Dec. 15, will also launch full-card simulcasting of Aqueduct’s live program daily in the Belmont Café at Belmont Park beginning Dec. 12.

“We’d like to thank chairman John Sabini and the New York State Racing and Wagering Board for their decisive action allowing NYRA to offer instant sign-ups and double cash rewards for new NYRA Rewards members,” said NYRA president and CEO Charles Hayward in a staetment.

Parking at Belmont and admission to the heated café area and programs will be free. Once inside, customers will be able to use self-service machines or bet with tellers. The Belmont Café kitchen will offer a variety of refreshments for purchase, including soup, bagels, hot dogs and assorted beverages. The Café will be open for simulcasting seven days per week from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.

NYRA Rewards is open seven days a week, offers customers the convenience of express funding, does not require members to maintain a minimum account balance, and does not charge any wagering transaction fees.
