With Anticipation has got the Breeders' Cup in his blood.

A top contender in the Turf (gr. I), the nearly white gelding was produced from Fran's Valentine, who finished first in the inaugural Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) in 1984, but was disqualified and placed 10th. The longest shot at 74-1 in the field of 11, Fran's Valentine swung out sharply in the upper stretch and bumped into Pirate's Glow. That filly was knocked off stride and pushed into Bessarabian. Outstandingly, behind Fran's Valentine by only a half-length at the wire, was declared the winner, and she was also was voted the divisional championship.

Fran's Valentine competed for three more seasons, winning 12 added-money events and earning $1,375,465. Her efforts included victories in the Kentucky and Hollywood Oaks (gr. I) and the Santa Susana Stakes (gr. I).

Fran's Valentine is the dam of one other stakes winner, With Fascination, who finished second in the 1995 Prix de Cabourg (Fr-III) and was second in the same year in the Prix Morny Piaget (Fr-I) and the Prix de la Salamandre (Fr-I).

Relaunch, the sire of With Anticipation, has been represented by two winners of Breeders' Cup races. A son, Skywalker, scored by 1 1/4 lengths over favored Turkoman in the 1986 Classic (gr. I) as a 10-1 shot. A daughter, One Dreamer, edged Heavenly Prize by a neck to take the 1994 Distaff (gr. I). Sent off at odds of 47-1, One Dreamer was the second-longest shot in the field at 47-1.
