The New York Thoroughbred Breeders concluded its annual board of directors election Dec. 3 . This year, NYTB members voted to fill five seats on the 11-person board.

The winning candidates of this year’s election are:
--Lois Engel of Lattingtown, N.Y., owner of Pucker Ridge Farm in Warrensburg
--Thomas Gallo III, founder and managing owner of Parting Glass Racing and Thomas J. Gallo III Sales Agency, and owner of Blue Stone Farm in Cambridge, N.Y.
--Vivien Malloy, owner of Edition Farm in Waccabuc, N.Y.
--John McMahon, owner and manager of Old Saratoga Thoroughbreds outside of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
--Chris Purdy, owner of Ivy League Farm in Ithaca, N.Y.

All five winning candidates are currently serving on the NYTB board of directors, and were re-elected to serve from Jan. 1, 2011 through Dec. 31, 2012.

Six members of the NYTB board of directors will be serving the second year of their two-year terms in 2011: Dr. Jerry Bilinski, owner of Waldorf Farm and Equine Medical Center; Chester Broman, owner of Chestertown Farm; Joanne Nielsen, owner of Sunnyfield Farm; Suzie O’Cain, co-manager of Highcliff Farm; Barry Ostrager, principle owner of Questroyal Stud; and breeder Shirl Penney, president and CEO of Dynasty Financial Partners.
