Eclipse Award turf winner Kitten's Joy will stand for $25,000 in 2011 at Ken and Sarah Ramsey’s Ramsey Farm near Nicholasville, Ky.
Kitten’s Joy (El Prado—Kitten’s First, by Lear Fan) ranks seventh on the second-crop sires list, with more than $2.3 million in progeny earnings. He also is a leading sire this year by number of 2-year-old winners with 22.
Kitten Joy has sired 11 career stakes horses, including 2010 Lane’s End Stakes (gr. II) winner Dean's Kitten. His 2010 fee was $40,000.
Ken Ramsey said the decision to lower Kitten’s Joy’s stud fee was in response to the economy and the slowdown in the horse business in general.
