Wildcat Heir to Stand for $10,000
Leading Florida stallion Wildcat Heir will stand in 2011 for a fee of $10,000 at Brent and Crystal Fernung’s Journeyman Stud near Ocala, Fla. His 2010 fee was $8,000.
Fresh off a record-breaking first crop that included 39 2-year-old winners in 2009, Wildcat Heir is enjoying an even stronger season this year, with seven stakes winners and progeny earnings of $4.2 million, both tops in Florida among all sires despite only having two crops to race.
“We’re excited to be able to offer Florida breeders such a top-notch stallion like Wildcat Heir,” Brent Fernung said. “He typifies what we're trying to do at Journeyman.”
Wildcat Heir is by Forest Wildcat out of the Pentelicus mare Penniless Heiress.
Also standing at Journeyman Stud is Mass Media, Florida's leading freshman sire by stakes winners and stakes horses in 2010, with 26% stakes horses among his 2-year-old starters. He will stand in 2011 for a fee of $2,000 stands and nurses. The farm is offering a unique incentive program for Mass Media. For more information about the program, go to JourneymanStud.com.

Consolidator will stand for $4,000 stands and nurses, and Bwana Charlie will stand for $2,500 stands and nurses. Also among the leading second-crop sires is Hear No Evil , sire of the top Florida-bred performer Jackson Bend. Hear No Evil will stand for $3,500 stands and nurses.
Journeyman is the new home for Awesome of Course , whose unbeaten daughter Awesome Feather won the Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) and is favored for an Eclipse Award. Awesome of Course stood the past breeding season at Ted Griffith’s Legend Farm near Coleman, Okla. His fee is $5,000. Awesome of Course is by Awesome Again out of Mais Oui, by Lyphard.
Kiss the Kid, a multiple graded stakes winner by Lemon Drop Kid out of the Danzig mare Black Tie Kiss, will stand his introductory season at Journeyman for a fee of $3,500.
