Marlin Colt Tops Keeneland's Saturday Session

A colt by multiple grade I winner Marlin brought $37,000 Saturday to top the next-to-last session of the Keeneland September yearling dale. The colt, out of You Tell Me, was purchased by Richard Matlow as agent and was consigned by Brereton C. Jones' Airdrie Stud, also acting as agent.

During Saturday's session, Keeneland sold 162 horses for $1,207,200, an average of $7,452 and a median of $5,000. At the corresponding session a year ago, 243 horses sold for $2,566,700, an average of $10,563 and a median of $7,500.

After 12 days of the 13-day auction, 2,743 horses have been sold for $253,147,400, anaverage of $92,289 and a median of $30,000. At this point in the sale a year ago, 3,173 horses had been sold for $290,142,900, an average of $91,441 and a median of $30,000.
