Last year's Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I) second-place finisher Kona Gold returns to the races after a 3 1/2 month freshening in the $200,000 Bing Crosby Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II) Saturday at Del Mar. Kona Gold runs as a coupled entry with barn mate Son of a Pistol and will be opposed in the six furlong race by Lexicon, who finished two lengths clear of Kona Gold while winning the Ancient Title Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II) at Santa Anita last October.
The Bing Crosby field -- with jockeys, weights, and morning-line odds -- will be:
1--Highland Gold, Chris McCarron, 115, 10-1
2--(E)Son of A Pistol, Garrett Gomez, 118, 1-1
3--Champ's Star, Eddie Delahoussaye, 114, 12-1
4--Love That Red, Victor Espinoza, 118, 7-2
5--(E)Kona Gold, Alex Solis, 123, 1-1
6--Lexicon, Kent Desormeaux, 116, 2-1
7--Levelled, Brice Blanc, 114, 20-1
