Bred in Kentucky by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings and owned by Stonestreet Stable and George Bolton, Astrology has been favored in all four career starts, with two victories and two thirds to his credit. The son of A.P. Indy—Quiet Eclipse, by Quiet American , has earned $120,553.
The 1 1/16-mile Kentucky Jockey Club, a tradition on the Thanksgiving weekend card, was won last year by eventual 2010 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner Super Saver .
Another graded stakes winner in the field of juveniles is Gary and Mary West’s homebred Major Gain, a son of More Than Ready —Dream Lady, by Old Trieste trained by Wayne Catalano. Second in his career debut at Arlington Park, Major Gain broke his maiden in the Arlington-Washington Futurity (gr. III). In his latest start, Major Gain was sent off as the favorite in Keeneland’s Breeders’ Futurity (gr. I), in which he was bumped at the half-mile pole en route to a fifth-place finish.
Also coming out of the Breeders’ Futurity is Santiva , runner-up to J. B.’s Thunder in the $400,000 race at Keeneland. Traiend by Eddie Kenneally for owner Tom R. Walters, the son of Giant's Causeway -Slide, by Smarten, has yet to break his maiden but has placed in all three career starts, with two seconds and a third.
