Charles Town Approved for 235 Dates in 2011

Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races was approved for 235 racing dates in 2011 with racing year-round.

The West Virginia track will race from Jan. 4-Dec. 30. Live racing will be held five days a week with the exception of June 8-Sept. 6, when racing will be held four days a week.

The West Virginia Racing Commission approved the dates Nov. 15.

From January-April, racing will be offered on a Tuesday-through-Saturday schedule with first post time of 7:15 p.m. Eastern time. Thereafter, racing will take place Wednesdays through Sundays, with first post of 7:15 Wednesdays through Saturdays and 1 p.m. Sundays.

The track’s big-event programs are tentatively scheduled for April 16 (Charles Town Classic), June 18 (Sprint Festival), and Sept. 17 (Race for the Ribbon). First post for those Saturday programs would be 6 p.m.
