ReRun’s semi-annual eBay auction of “Moneighs” to raise funds to support retired Thoroughbreds awaiting adoption in its program will be held Nov. 28-Dec. 5.

A Moneigh is an original, abstract painting created by a horse, using the horse’s muzzle, whiskers, hoof, and tail. Some artists, such as Funny Cide and Cigar, will paint by holding a paintbrush in their mouths.

Most Moneighs include a hoof print, lock of mane or tail, and brass name plate. The paintings come matted but are no longer framed.

The paintings can be viewed after Nov. 28 at http://art.search.ebay.com/moneigh. An eBay account is necessary for bidding.

The following horses have done Moneighs: A.P. Indy, A.P. Jet , Awesome Again, Be A Bono, Big Brown, Cigar, Congaree, Curlin, Da Hoss, Dynaformer, Einstein, Evening Attire, Flower Alley (with Breeders’ Cup saddlecloth), Funny Cide, Giacomo, Midnight Lute, Molly the amputee pony (with book), Point Given, Smarty Jones, Spitfire, and Zippy Chippy.
