Get Rich Quick, a stakes-winning son of Seeking the Gold sold as a stallion prospect, and a weanling colt by Ready's Image each brought $37,000 to top the 12th session of Keeneland’s November breeding stock sale in Lexington.
H S P P acquired the 6-year-old Get Rich Quick from Brookdale Sales, agent. Out of the Strawberry Road mare Danka, Get Rich Quick is a half brother to multiple graded stakes winner Bedanken and stakes winner Much Obliged.
The Ready’s Image colt, who is a member of his sire’s first crop, was purchased by Stoney Lane Farm. Out of Naughtier (by Wild Zone), the weanling is from the family of stakes winners Naughty and Bemissed. He was consigned by Susan M. Forrester, agent.
During the session, 145 horses were sold for a gross of $702,500. The average price was $4,845 and the median price was $2,200. Last year, during the comparable session, 154 horses were sold for a gross of $1,195,800. The average was $7,765 and the median was $3,500.
The cumulative figures through 12 sessions included a gross of $146,675,400 for the 2,795 horses that were sold. The average was $52,478 and the median was $18,000. During the comparable period in 2009, 2,648 horses were sold for a gross of $158,924,200. The average was $60,017 and the median was $21,000.
