Warrior's Reward Retired to Spendthrift
Grade I winner Warrior's Reward has been retired from racing for stallion duty at B. Wayne Hughes’ Spendthrift Farm near Lexington. Four-year-old Warrior’s Reward, who will stand for $15,000, was beaten 2 1/4 lengths while fifth in the Sentient Jet Breeders’ Cup Sprint (gr. I) Nov. 6 in his final start. He captured the Carter Handicap (gr. I) over Musket Man and Munnings in New York in April and finished second or third in five graded stakes. Spendthrift, who earlier announced a $60,000 stud fee for Malibu Moon , kept the same 2010 fees for Tiz Wonderful ($12,500), Notional ($7,500), and Don't Get Mad ($3,000). The farm dropped the fee for Into Mischief to $8,500 from $10,000.
