Bernardini's Fee Upped to $75,000

Bernardini

Bernardini  , who became the first freshman stallion in history to sire a grade I winner on dirt and a group I winner on turf, will stand in 2011 at Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley near Lexington for $75,000. His 2010 fee was $60,000.

A champion 3-year-old male, Bernardini (A.P. Indy—Cara Rafaela, by Quiet American  ) was represented Oct. 9 by Frizette Stakes (gr. I) winner A Z Warrior and Gran Criterium Milan (It-I) winner Biondetti. Bernardini is the sire of an additional graded winner and another group winner.

Darley’s two highest-priced stallions, Street Cry and Medaglia d'Oro  , will stand for the same fee they stood for last breeding season. Street Cry will stand for $150,000, and Medaglia d’Oro will command $100,000.

The same goes for Quiet American   ($15,000), Rockport Harbor   ($12,500), Holy Bull ($10,000), and Offlee Wild   ($7,500).

Darley will stand newcomers Midshipman   for $15,000 and Desert Party   for $10,000.

Stallions whose fee have dropped are Elusive Quality  ($50,000 from $75,000), Street Sense   ($40,000 from $50,000), Hard Spun   ($30,000 from $35,000), Any Given Saturday   ($20,000 from $25,000), Street Boss   ($17,500 from $20,000), Discreet Cat   ($17,500 from $20,000), and Henny Hughes   ($12,500 from $25,000).
