Conchita, a half sister to group 1 stakes winner White Moonstone, sold for $370,000 to top the Nov. 11 session of the Keeneland breeding stock sale.

Breeder Peter Blum purchased the 5-year-old daughter of Cozzene who was sold in foal to More Than Ready  . The mare is out of the stakes-winning Seeking the Gold mare Desert Gold.

So far this year, 843 horses have grossed $108,403,000 for an average of $128,592 and a median of $77,000. For the first four days of the 2009 November sale, 791 horses sold for $118,884,200 for an average of $150,296 and a median of $95,000.

“At (the fourth) session, we saw that really good foals continue to sell well, with weanlings commanding six of the top 10 prices today,” Keeneland director of sales Geoffrey Russell said in a statement. “We also are seeing that buyers are being selective in their purchases and focusing very much on quality.”

A weanling full sister to 2010 Pat O’Brien Stakes (gr. I) winner El Brujo brought a final bid of $320,000—second-highest price of the day—from  Australian-based Waratah Thoroughbreds. By Candy Ride   out of Enchanted Spell, by Devil’s Bag, the filly is a half sister to stakes winner Galadriel.

Both of the day’s top-priced horses were consigned by Mr. and Mrs. Jody Huckabay’s Elm Tree Farm, agent.

The November sale continues through Nov. 20. All sessions begin at 10 a.m. EST.
