Goldikova, winner of the last three runnings of the Breeders’ Cup Mile (gr. IT), and Investec Epsom Derby (Eng-I) winner Workforce are among the five Cartier Racing Awards' finalists for 2010 Horse of the Year.
The Cartier Racing Awards recognize excellence in horse racing and are split into eight categories for the year’s top horses. The awards are determined by points earned in pattern races combined with the opinions of a panel of racing journalists headed by Brough Scott, as well as votes from readers of the Racing Post and The Daily Telegraph. The awards will be presented Tuesday, Nov. 16, at London’s Dorchester Hotel.
Goldikova, who races as a homebred for Alain and Gerard Wertheimer, was a group I winner in England and France. Workforce, bred and raced by Khalid Abdullah’s Juddmonte Farms, also won this year’s Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Fr-I).
