Interest in super mare Zenyatta and this year’s Breeders’ Cup World Championships second day Nov. 6 propelled TVG to a record day, with more than $7.8 million in wagering.

The amount wagered Nov. 6 was second-highest in the company’s history, exceeded only by the total bet on this year’s Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I). The company also processed $741,927 in wagering via its UK tote.
One TVG account holder cashed a winning Breeders’ Cup Ultra-Pick 6 ticket worth $800,160.40.
“The total wagering is evidence of the high levels of interest in Zenyatta and this year’s Breeders’ Cup and the enthusiastic response of our customers to the full competitive fields in these races,” Betfair TVG president Stephen Burnsaid in a statement. “Our partnership with the Breeders’ Cup allows us to drive new accounts in the lead-up to the event and that’s a big part of the handle records.”
